This article attempts to analyze main philosophical educational concepts in Ancient Greece. Ancient Greek philosophers were convinced that the system of education and training is one of the most important factors contributing to social reproduction. At its best education equips individuals with the skills and substantive knowledge that allows them to define and to pursue their own goals, and also allows them to participate in the life of their community as full-fledged, autonomous personalities.
