Despite the significant progress made in recent years in Tank building, tanks for oil and petroleum products are among the most dangerous objects. Particular attention is paid to improve operational reliability and safety of vertical steel tanks for storage of oil and oil products are developed new principles of the design of the tank. One such principle - the principle of the separation of work strain housing bottom and floating roof tank. Efficacy conceptual principle of dividing the work of deformation housing bottom and the floating roof of the tank is provided so that the floating roof and the tank bottom structurally flexible mate with a vertical cylindrical tank wall via damping elements in the form of the corrugation. Having the damper elements allows the bottom with a maximum filled condition under the influence of fluid pressure is easily deformed due to the compliance of the annular corrugation in the vertical and in the tangential direction, which can dramatically reduce the stress concentration at the additional coupling elements of the vertical wall, selvages and a bottom.
