EXISTENTIAL OF DEATH IN THE CONTEXT OF ANCIENT AND MEDIEVAL PHILOSOPHY

Death is a topical subject for historical and philosophical discussion since ancient times till today. Human death, his/her attitude towards death, sense or senselessness of this phenomenon – all these issues are acute for every person and humanity as a whole. This problem becomes prevailing in modern philosophy, particularly in philosophy of life and existential philosophy. Comprehension of human nature, their relationship with society at different stages of historical and cultural development led to several approaches to interpretation of the phenomenon of death. This paper attempts to study existential of death in the context of Ancient and Medieval philosophy.
