The article presents the current classification of the major groups of pharmacological drugs used in sports as doping agents. Focuses on the characterization of testosterone preparations of natural and synthetic origin: its structure, mechanisms of steroid anabolic action, therapeutic and adverse side effects, the risk of uncontrolled use of high doses in modern sports medicine.
