The basic mechanisms and general laws of development of microbial resistance to the main pharmacological groups of antimicrobial drugs (β-lactam antibiotics, aminoglycosides, quinolones/fluoroquinolones, macrolides, ketolides, lincosamides, tetracyclines, glycopeptides, sulfonamides, polymyxin, nutrofurany, nitroimidazoles), which are currently the most widely used in practical medicine for treating bacterial infections, presented in this article.
