Basic wood density is widely used for calculations of processes of heating, drying, wood treatment, determining the dry matter in the wood raw material for pulp and paper industry and other purposes. This study is important for the theory and practice of Wood Science. For theory it reveals the role of phylogenetic specialization xylem elements. In practical terms, it greatly reduces the labor and energy costs when determining the basic density.
