In the process of decomposition of the phosphate raw material simultaneously with the extraction phosphoric acid, a solid waste product – phosphogypsum is formed, which is stored in the tailings plant fertilizers (MU). Phosphogypsum is a tonnage waste of chemical industry. Historical phosphogypsum wastes in dumps LP "Kazphosphate" MU exceeds 8.5 million tons and covers an area of over 96 hectares. As a result of dusting and washing atmospheric precipitations, harmful substances contained in phosphogypsum, pollute the air, groundwater and surface water, soil and vegetation cover, which has a negative impact on the environment of Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan. To develop technologies for integrated waste phosphogypsum studied its composition, structure and properties. Investigation of phosphogypsum located on the dumps of TF LP "Kazphosphate" "MU", showed that fresh and stale phosphogypsum has almost the same phase and chemical composition, and basically contains calcium sulfate dihydrate (CaSO4 • 2H2O), which is similar to natural gypsum resources. This allows recommending recycling phosphogypsum to gypsum binder, which is currently produced from natural raw materials, and using it for the production of of building materials
