The mythological consciousness formulated profound philosophical questions: how the world arose; how the human being emerged; what is the sense of man’s being on the earth; how to explain the phenomena of nature; what a group of people is, etc. Philosophy deeply rooted in mythology has claimed responsibility for the answers. Mythology did not just precede philosophy - it had an enormous impact on the formation of philosophy. Mythology (as religion later) served a common cultural background against which the great temple of philosophy arose.
